When this web site started, I emailed Michelle about the interview. She was interested so I did send her a copy.

The interview I have in my possission, was done in 1967 by a friend of mine, Harry Young, who at the time was a student at University Of San Francisco, majoring in Broadcasting. Matt was in San Francisco at the opening of "Born Free". I have the interview as an mp3 audio file and if you want to give...

I have that album (LP) in my library also. It is called "The Best Of The British". When I get home I will look to see what songs are on it.

I have in my possession, a taped interview with Matt in San Francisco, in 1967. In the interview Matt had a great admiration of Perry Como. His comment: "he's so in tune". I can't recall any of Perry Como's hits being covered by Matt. Maybe someone can come up with one. I have a lot of Perry's songs...

In USA, we are at the mercy of what PBS will show. Last year sometime, a BBC production, "Murder In Suburbia", the two female detectives finally caught the murder of a neighbor. He is a somewhat famous actor, who played a detective in another series. I'm rambling, forgive me. But, when they went to ...

Favorite Songs

I agree with all of you. Many of the songs on this double cd set I have only on 45 rpm disks, so I am very glad they were included. "All That Remains" was a song I had somehow downloaded from the internet years ago and had never heard before on any album (LP). It is one of my favorite as is "All Of ...

On the subject again (Sort of)

Yes, we have strayed from "Peters & Lee". I was reviewing their songs from the LP when I copied over to CD and like their rendition of "Wonderful Baby". I don't know if any of you remember it at all. Our children were teen-agers during the mid 1970s to the mid 1980s. We had to put up with a lot of t...

Bobby Darin

I have grown to like Bobby Darin very much, and have a lot of his stuff. I just didn't like the "Splish, Splash, I Was Taking A Bath" song. There was just something about it that seemed rather infantile. Of course, as I stir up my little grey cells, I seem to remember songs like "Tuti Fruiti", "Mama...

All Good Singers

Thanks for your understanding. Yes, we seem to have lost the "good FM" stations over here. There is a station out of Valentia, California that broadcast via satelite to stations who have contracts with them. They play music from the 1950's to the current year. Here is Fresno, California, they have a...

Yes, Mariane, I am a brave American! There are not too many times I do not speak my mind. My wife gets after me for that, but what the heck, I'm at an age where I can get away with it. When I think of groups and singing harmony, what comes to my mind are: The Four Lads, The Four Freshmen, The Hi-Lo'...

Isn't it interesting how what our parents liked or disliked carries over into our world! There is a group that came from Britain that I could never get my "likes" around - "The Beatles". They wrote some lovely tunes and some of the best instrumentals and other singers have done wonderful jobs with t...

Peters & Lee

I'm wondering, here in the good ole' USofA, if any of your Brits remember "Peters & Lee"? I have an LP I purchased back in the late 1970s titled "Peters & Lee Favourites". It contains all of their hits plus some other fine tunes. I am going to convert it to CD. They have some very nice songs on the ...

Vic Franklyn

Thanks to all for replying. I have been able to purchase through ebay, two LP albums, "Leave Tenderly" and "Shangri-La". I am in the process of converting them to CD. This was truly a gifted singer and it's too bad that he never got the recognition he deserved. I would really like to find the album ...

Vic Franklyn

Has anyone over there in England ever heard of a singer named Vic Franklyn? He was very popular in Canada and did the Los Vegas thing during the 1970s. Frank Sinatra liked him and went to his shows often. I recorded off the air some of his songs during the late 1970s and early 1980s but was only abl...
