HRH The Queen Mum's home

I mentioned elsewhere that I have been away from the forum too long. Whilst absent I had the rare opportunity to visit the Castle of Mey, the late Queen Mother's home in Scotland http://www.castleofmey.org.uk/ which is in rather a remote location near to John O'Groats (and it wasn't a charity event ...

Re: HELLO FROM PADDY

I know Virginia Water from driving through it a few times! As to Wentworth... some years ago my wife was friends with a lady who had a house on the golfing estate - her husband was a big cheese with Coca-Cola. How the other half live; triple garage attached to the house and 2 detached double garages...

Re: HELLO FROM PADDY

Welcome back, Paddy. I am another making a return after a long absence, not due to health in my case but just pressure of live and existing ! Bizzarely enough my younger daughter and her partner now live very, very close to Michele's former home in Harrow, but in comparative poverty - a tiny 1-bed d...

Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?

A bit late, I suppose..... but having been to the House Sale in February and experienced the dulcet tones of Matt, the following week-end I went to my parents house to check it over while they are away on holiday to find they had left an unwanted Tom Jones CD on the kitchen table..... so I drove hom...

Re: A Very Special Day at Michele's 26 Feb 2011

I wish I could have stayed longer and also heard the reading late afternoon. It was a special day and I am happy to have had a small part in it. There are still days when I miss my late granny (mum's mum); she passed away suddenly aged 91 in Feb 2000 and was fully "with it" when she went. I know tha...

Re: Today's Joke

And it is all so true !!!!!! If only........ I live with my 2 teenage daughters - actually that's wrong now, elder one is 20; neither of them seems able or willing to change a roll of toilet paper or do any washing-up (or even make sure that their durty stuff is by the sink). The number of times I ...

Re: Letter from Barbara Melton

I have very vague recollections of being taken to the cinema by my parents to see "Born Free" when we were on holiday in Bournemouth and it was raining; this would have been a long time ago (and I have very very few memories of my childhood)

QUEEN OF PUDDINGS - Yum
My mum makes a great Q of P but as I've not lived at home for many years I'm feeling particularly deprived of this amazing dish (and I'm not a great one for puddings)
