Very true, Glenn :)

Pam, we're coming over!!!
You live near Dollywood?!
My wife is a huge fan of Dolly's and it is her dream to visit Dollywood.
On our recent rip to Florida we ate in the Crackerbarrel restaraunt purely because Dolly endorses it! :)

In fact, Paul from Washington, a valuable member of this site and a good friend, is supposed to be going with us.
Now, when all this will happen, I have no idea, but one day you may find 5 strangers tapping on your front door wanting to say "hi"! :)

Thanks for everyones kind words, by the way.

Hello Pam, and warm welcome to this fabulous forum.
I heartily recommend a DVD entitled, The Irish Tenors
on Ellis Island. It is a musical celebration of the Ellis Island
Registry building (and recorded therein) that was opened
in 1892 to welcome immigrants to America from every corner
of the globe.
It is presented by Martin Sheen and features Ronan Tynan,
Finbar Wright and Anthony Kearns. Marvellous music with
a mainly, but not exclusively, Irish flavour.
Keith.

come on over, Dollywood is in Pidgeon Forge which is right next to Gatlinburg in Tennessee. On the map if you look for Knoxville that is fairly close. I live about 5 to 6 hours away, 30 miles north of Atlanta. Come visit and I will take you guys to Stone Mountain, a fairly neat park with a (big surprise) stone mountain in it and lots of fun things to do. The other truly southern place to eat is at a waffle house.

Keith,
Thanks for the info on the tenors. I love Ronan Tynan. I love good music overall. I like melodies and words not shouting and rap. Guess I am getting old

I will leave the porch light on for you or as they say in the south y'all. By the way I was thinking of visiting the UK but I want to know if everyone has a brother that looks like Jude Law. In the movie "The Holiday" Kate Winslets brother was Jude Law and I think that would be worth the trip all by itself!!

I can't promise you that Pam, but I do live very near the town where Kate Winslet was born and grew up, and could show you a road named after her, Kate Winslet Place, but I reckon you'd be more impressed with Jude Law Place!!!!

Like you . Pam I am deeply obcessed with Matt Monro. I do so understand how you feel about this wonderful man with the velvet voice . Actually, I only listen to his incedible sound.. beginning and ending my day with his music....I also try very hard to introduce his voice to all of my friends and family... and they too.. are totally impressed with matt.... SO welcome to this world of beautiful music....

Hey Lori,
I know what you mean about introducing a new generation to Matt. At work (where now they hide when they see the Matt glaze on my face) they are beginning to listen. At any rate I kind of got into a "discussion" with a person on youtube starting out with her making not nice statements about Michael Buble and basically preaching that Frank Sinatra was the only singer in the world. Well after a healthy discussion on many fronts I reintroduced her to Matt and made a believer out of her, Especially after I reminded her that Frank said Matt was the best.

Lori and Pam, you are both doing a wonderful job of spreading the music of Matt Monro to America.

Hi Pam,
I have just taken a look around your website, or I should probably say, your husband's website, although you do get a mention or two. Wow! what an exciting life you must have led, so far!

I found it very interesting, and nice to see a link to Matt's website too. :D :D
Marian

We have also looked on your husbands web-site Pam, and that's so nice that you have a link to Matt's web-site. Both you and Lori are true fans. :)
