Paul French Portrait of my love

Post by jimpol1976 » Tue Nov 22, 2011 1:20 am

Hi , My name is Paul French and I have only recently joined the Forum.
I have been a great admirer of Matt Monro for many years .Not only was he a great ,and I think very underrated singer ,but also one who sang some absolutely beautiful songs.
I am a professional singer and feature quite a few of these in my act and I am always amazed by the amount of people in audiences, old and not so old ,who love Matt Monro and this type of music.I have recently recorded a CD "Portrait of my love" featuring five Matt Monro numbers as well as songs by Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble.
Clips of these can be heard on my website paulfrenchvocalist.co.uk as well as a full version on You Tube of "Softly as I leave you" which I think is easily one of his most beautiful songs and one which I certainly enjoy singing very much.If you do get a chance to listen I do hope you enjoy my version of these great songs.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum, and pleased to hear that you are an admirer of Matt's music. You have a great voice and we enjoyed hearing your version of "Softly As I Leave you." very much.
This was just one of many songs that Matt made his own, and he was a hard act to follow no matter what he sang, but we look forward to hearing more of
your songs Paul, and good lucK with your CD :)

Hi everyone,
Thanks to all for the words of welcome and for the kind comments from those who had listened to my version of "Softly as I leave you" on You Tube.
I have had a look through the site and it certainly takes in a wide range of areas which I found not only interesting but also entertaining.Still haven't got through it all.I imagine that will take some time.
One thing is obvious though there are certainly a lot of very devoted Matt Monro fans out there.
