We have another song with a place name and it's new since our last entry in this game.
Rockferry by Duffy
It's truly a brilliant song; it sounds like it came out of the 1960s and Dusty, Lulu, Sandie, Cilla could have recorded it. I'd encourage all of you to check it out. I love it!

I hear that Rockferry is somewhere in Wales, but I'm not exactly sure where (maybe in the north). Perhaps Marian or Edgar can help.

"songs with Geographical locations"
What about "Canadian Pacific" ? by George HanmiltonIV- loads of them in there!
I rode your ocean liner to Newfoundland, where I made my living in an iron mine,
when I got my fill, I went to Nova Scotia, where I fished them salty waters for a time
Passing through Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick, I could see them rocks and cliffs of solid stone, l
istenin to the seagulls calling to each other,
made me miss my darlin', and my distant home...............etc, etc!
ahh bliss!

Heres some more, I thought of;
San Quentin, Folsom City, Starkville City Jail, by the great Johnny Cash,
or Amarillo by Morning, by George Strait
time for a lie down!

Dean: That's interesting that your Dad grew up in Rockferry and now it's immortalised in Duffy's song and album. I hope you have heard the song ... it's fabulous!

I'm not sure that Bert Kaempfurt recorded A Walk In The Black Forest. The hit version was by Horst Jankowski. I was so happy to finally find a CD of Mr Jankowski's greatest hits at HMV in London in February.

That song about North Virginia and London Town is "Without You" by The Feeling. Actually I met them at a Borders Bookstore in Northern Virginia (nobody says "North Virginia") when they were in the US trying to "make it" and promoting their last album. They were great guys, especially the drummer Paul, who got me free tickets to their concert that evening.

Sadly they never did "make it" and given the poor critical response to their latest album, I believe their career in America is over.

Since we're on geography names I'll submit the B side to the latest release by Girls Aloud, "Can't Speak French":
Hoxton Heroes
I believe Hoxton is a hip trendy area in London north of Shoreditch (and we all know who is from Shoreditch
 ).
