Yes it was Marian. We also remember Dr and author Richard Gordon when Eamon Andrews surprised him with the Big Red Book, his first words were .... Oh Balls. !! :D
Well done Marian, your turn.

Which tv programme used to include the words ...." Three in a row and a bonus mark"?
Here's another quote from the same programme to make it easier...
"Our starter for 10"

It was University Challenge with Bamber Gascoine. I still can't answer many of the questions on this programme.

Anyone else like to ask a question, I can't think of one at the moment.

We have always watched University Challenge Marian, so I should have known the answer right away.
It is somewhat different now to when Bamber Gascoigne would politely say to the teams...Have to hurry you, and now we have the condescending Jeremy Paxman bellowing....Come On !!! uggh
Anyway it's difficult to keep thinking of Questions, but here's one to be going on with
,
Q. Which actor and comedian said....A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it. :)

Robert, The song was actually ..A Nightingale Sang In Berkely Square, and Maggie was said to have quite often stepped up to the piano at the Ritz Hotel and sang this song, :)
A. The accident involved one of the competitors going up on the inside at the drinks stop where one of the girls in the race got hampered.

L&H it was a wheelchair competitor going at 20mph who knocked the Olympic champion right off her feet. It could have been a far more serious injury to the Olympic champion. Things will have to change now because of that accident. Why was a wheelchair competitor who was doing 20 mph allowed to pass those female runners on the inside at a "drinks stop" surely the wheelchair competitors should have been told to go around the "other side" of the runners, away from the drinks stop ..................
