Well, on looking up Georgia Brown for another thread on the forum, I find that Georgia Brown changed her name from - Lillian Claire Laizer Getel Klot.. and I can quite understand why! :wink: :wink:

Hi Marian,
Englebert Humperdinck - Jerry Dorsey. A very obvious
one. However, what isn't obvious is why he changed it.
Perhaps it was because there was a bandleader called
Jerry Dorsey. The Englebert moniker wasn't original
either. The plot thickens.

Engelbert was born Arnold George Dorsey and then performed for a few years as ... Gerry Dorsey, although heaven knows why he changed it to Engelbert Humperdinck, but it worked for him. :lol: :lol:
