Well Bluebells sound just as feasable as the Bluebirds that never actually saw the White Cliffs Of Dover Marian.
It was actually an American song, and Bluebirds never arrived here

The "Bluebell Girls" were formed by Dublin born Irish woman Margaret Kelly, who sadly passed away in 2005 aged 94
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

No one has submitted the Matt Monro song with bluebells in the lyrics. It's on The Rare Monro disc 1, which I have listened to a lot this week. The song is:

I Love You Too

Have just come back from a quiz supporting our local Hospice, and one of the questions reminded me , that right here in my part of Kent is a Steam railway line called--what else but "The Bluebell Line ".

For anyone interested we came 4th out of 20, and won the table quiz with my favourite subject--"Songs from the Musicals"--we won a bag of Cadburys "Twirls" between us  :lol

It looks great doesn't it Marian, "The Bluebell Line "run interesting days out including trips with lines carpeted with bluebells and special events that end up with a pub lunch etc. Coming 4th out of Twenty in your quiz is very good and no surprise to us that you were first in Songs From The Musicals. :)
We have our quiz night coming up in June. Have to brush up on all subjects.
Have discovered that Charlie Landsbrough sings lyrics to" The Blubell Man.! on the "Smile" album.:D .

We have The Watercress Line not far from us in Hampshire. It also runs special days out on the super old steam trains, and we're also not far from Didcot, where Thomas the Tank Engine visits at certain times of the year. A great day out for the youngsters, and the seniors!!!
Marian
P.S. Forgot to say, very well done in your quiz Marian!!

:?: Any chance of having a pub quiz or a music quiz before or after Fans Reunited II? I love playing them on the QE2 and usually win or come in second place. If the topic is song lyrics, Lena and Harry must be on a separate team from John.

That sounds a good idea Jeff--I love quizzes, and take part in lots. Plus I have also devised many quizzes [musical] for WI.

If we could think of somewhere that we could run the quiz, I would not mind doing a musical quiz. Or if anyone else wanted to do one, I would join in !!! Or something on the lines of "Popmaster " ???

Sounds like a fun idea! Although very inexperienced "quizzers," Peter and I would be prepared to have a go  (As long as we have someone good on our team!!!) Mariana, what is Popmaster??

"Popmaster" is a musical quiz show, every day on Radio 2--"The Ken Bruce show"---and it is one of Jeff's ambitions to appear on the show !

Our club quiz night is fast and furious. That's why we all first have Fish and Chips to start the night off (the so called brain food ) that's not generally easy to swallow from the table that comes last.
Apart from the general knowledge questions from the quiz master there are about Four additional sheets on the table to complete, puzzles, cryptics, anagrams.
Will also have to listen in to Popmaster now..

Can you see us all tucking in to fish and chips in The Beck Foyer, Lena and Harry!!! I know Michele likes them, and I'm sure her dad would have approved too! Your quiz evenings sound great, don't know if our brains would stand the pace though.

We would be more than happy tucking in to Fish and Chips in the foyer Marian, and we'd take on a bet that like us our Matt had eaten many a portion wrapped up in the Daily Sketch newspaper or the Evening News.
It was part of our stable diet, and in the days when queues for it in the evenings would be endless, and one of us kids would go to the queue and replace and take over from whover was there.
