Not that I'm comparing you with my mum Lena, but I have photos of my mum as a young girl in a polka dot dress, with a very wide black belt with a large silver coloured buckle, that looked like it clipped together.

Marian, can familiarise all those styles like your Mum wore that we often see in the "Yours magazine" sent in from readers What about when the NEW LOOK fashion arrived in 1947. and oh what a difference a couple of decades made with the mini skirt in the Sixties.

Well, I cant believe that short skirts and sideburns were still in fashion in the Seventies, but we have photos to prove it.
At least Harry didn't wear those bell bottom jeans, but the above the knee dresses that i wore are not for the faint hearted to see.
We must bin them

Sorry Paul, that's not the one I was thinking of.

Did fashion in the U.S change in the same way as it did in the U.K in the fifties, sixties and seventies? Maybe you're too young to remember though Paul.

I will try The Happening this time. (I think we've had a similar clue for it previously.)

Yes, fashion did change frequently in the 50s, 60s, and 70s in the US. But I don't recall having all the cool fashion in the 1960s. (I went to an 60s fashion exhibit at the V & A Museum last autumn (at the time of Fans Reunited). It was fascinating to see the cool fashions and the film clips of the stores on King Road ... it was clear that the epicenter of the swinging 60s was London. I guess with the Vietnam war and other tragedies of the 1960s in the US, the wild 60s fashion was too extreme.)

Unlike Harry, I proudly wore bell bottoms slacks (never jeans for me  ), polyester shirts (with loud patterns and flowers) and leisure suits in the 1970s. I'm sure Robert also wore his share of bell bottoms and polyester shirts! :) :D

No sorry Paul, it's a different answer this time!

Thanks for the update of fashion in the U.S.
I'm sure you have always been very fashionably dressed.  8)
I well remember the terrible flowered shirts with big pointed collars that Jack Jones wore in those days, (on stage anyway!) and the bell bottomed trousers..even with a white tux.

Sorry, no one has got it right so far. Hope my clue isn't too obscure. :? :?
I'll see if I can help...think of the opposite to an inactive lifestyle
