Oh Lena and Harry--I knew Terence's one straight off---one of my very favourites. I usually have to think really hard before I get one.

Can we pretend it was me, and I'll set another one?? Here goes....

"Fate seemed to pull the strings--I turned and you were gone"

I believe your lyric is from Charade, Marian. (I had to sing my favourite "music box" next line.) I think I submitted this song earlier; perhaps you were trying to trick us! :D

Back to up-tempo for summer: Here is my submitted line, from the Matt Monro song I recently discovered and it's now become one of my favourites. I listened to it often over the week-end. (Sorry Gray, I didn't do my homework ... I forgot to listen to Hello Young Lovers ... but I will soon.)

I know nothing about this song, who wrote it, and who else recorded it. But it's a great arrangement and vocal.

"Come as close as you can"

Hi Paul, "Come As Close As You Can" is from the song, "Without You"

Here's another ..... If You Feel That Way Too.
Then Nothing Can Go Wrong.

(Edit)
Marty, why didn't you post your's before I posted mine   Now it's your turn with the lyrics. P.S. where have you been hiding these past couple of months :? :?

Hiya Robert, been caught up in football fever and various other bits and bobs, but it's great to pop in and see just how wonderful this forum is doing these days. Brilliant to see that all of Michele's hard work is paying off.

So back to the game....

Was I silent was I cold was I quick to scold

Marty's lyric is from If She Walked Into My Life. No one can that song like Matt Monro!

Here's a lyric from a movie I'll be seeing tonight. I'm very excited to be seeing this movie in a restored theatre.

"And I've got used to hear her say"

Of course, you're right, Marian! And I'm seeing My Fair Lady in exactly 2 hours! This was the one song from the musical that I never liked---until I heard Matt Monro's version.

It's now your turn to submit a lyric.

Hi Robert--yes you were right---I do not know why I bothered--I scarcely slept a wink! At least I could listen to my music. and this is one of those that came up last night---
but it might be a bit too easy.....

"Each one believing that love never dies"

Paul---how was the film---I have watched it so many times and really enjoy it each time I watch it--a true classic.....
