We certainly do Marian. It was traditional in most homes at Christmas to make our own Christmas cakes a little while before the big day and to finally Marzipan and Ice It with Royal Icing made with Icing sugar and egg whites and water.
Ideal and used for wedding cakes too Karl. :) :)

I should have known that as my dad was a chef, mum used to bake cakes for Xmas but never iced them as none of us liked marzipan much, I quite like it now but in small doses!

I have now taken over the reigns at baking fruit cakes and having great results I'm pleased to say!!! :)
