I remember when we had the Empire Games in Cardiff Lena, but can't say I can remember Empire Day, Peter does though!
They don't really have flag days now like they used to do they? It's just never ending requests for charity donations.

We remember the Empire games at Cardiff in the Fifties Marian, and remember Empire Day mainly at school, when the entire school assembled and pupils turned up in their Girl Guide, Brownies, Girls Brigade and Woodcraft Folk uniforms, and we sang the National Anthem and saluted the flag.
Yes, you are right Marian, requests for charity donations come through the letterbox like confetti these days but because we rely a great deal on help in this way for the charity dear to our hearts The National Autistic Society, we try to donate to those that we feel are more deserving than others and hopefully don't have too many fingers in the pie first.
