Does anyone remember this film-called "COME NEXT SPRING",
if I recall correctly, it starred Anne Baxter, and Steve Cochrane.

About a small farming family in Us, with a small child who would not--could not---talk.

It was a happy /sad ending.

MANDY about a little deaf girl is a very moving film that I remember well. It starred Mandy Miller as the little girl, and I think her mother was Phyllis Calvert, but I'm not sure.

My school friend ( and still friends today ) her sister was in the film Mandy. She is deaf and dumb and was resident in a school in Manchester at that time and was one of the children chosen to appear in the film. :)

That's interesting to hear Lena.
I've checked out the film, and Mandy's mum was indeed Phyllis Calvert, dad was Terence Morgan, and Jack Hawkins was the headmaster of the school Mandy attended.
It also says it was the first film appearance for Jane Asher. I presume she must have been one of the children too.
It also came up as available from Amazon on DVD for £6.58.

I remember the film of "Mandy".

Going back in time again-does anyone recall "The Eddie Duchin Story"--with Kim Novak, and the wonderful Tyrone Power---a really sad film----based on the life of Eddie Duchin.

That is also on dvd in "Amazon "--but I think only reg 1

Thanks Sandra that sounds great, we have the soundtrack album of music from the movie with Carmen Cavallero. It is fantastic, but with just 12 tracks. :) :)

Another lovely film is "John and Julie" about a little girl who desperately wants to see the Queen's Coronation in 1953 and runs away with a friend to London to see it. Eddie Calvert provides the lovely theme. :D

Yes, we certainly remember God Diggers Of 1933 Pam. We also have the song sheet.
We liked all the Busby Berkely movies.

One of my favourite films was "YENTL", with of course Barbra Streisand, and the gorgeous Mandy Patinkin.

Music by Marilyn and Alan Bergman--some really lovely songs-an unusual story---the only downside was that Mandy Patinkin sang not one note !!!
