Lost or Forgotten Songs
Re: Lost or Forgotten Songs
I would say that "All kinds of everything" is Dana's most well-known recording--and her voice sounds very young on that--as indeed she was.
I have several of her cds, and 2 tracks that I like a lot, which are rarely heard are "Silient Movies" and "Trying to get the feeling" both of which are songs written by Neil Sedaka.

Just spotted that reference to SOLOMON KING, cant resist a bit of background, he was also an early member of Elvis's JORDANAIRES, and a Jewish Canter, he also had a decent hit with "WHEN WE WERE YOUNG" & HAVA NAGILA ...

I'll give you 3 songs that were my favorites back in the 40s & 50s - Never heard much anymore......
"A CHAPTER IN MY LIFE CALLED MARY" by Sammy Kaye w/Don Cornell on the vocal (Also "The Last Mile Home")
"THE FOUR WINDS & THE SEVEN SEAS" - Tony Alamo w/Sammy Kaye's Orchestra & Choir (Also "Wanderin' ")
"LAUGH CLOWN LAUGH"(aka "Vesti la Giubba") - Alan Dale on a "Big" Vocal (Matt's sings a softer version on the first track of Special Reserve CD)
Anyone out there remember any of the above?---I bet Harry & Lena remember some of these!!
