Am I the only one around who does not like "Fish and Chips"--well, I do not mind the Fish, but I cannot stand Chips

Fish n Chips in Uxbridge and Bluebells in WV, USA

Post by paul jh » Wed May 02, 2007 6:13 pm

:?: What is a Ruby?

I saw a neat fish & chips restaurant on my way from Hayes to Uxbridge for shopping before Fans Reunited. If I'm able to attend Fans Reunited II, I'm definitely going to check out that place! I love fish and chips! :D

Back to bluebells for a moment: We do have them in America. A friend said they are just lovely in West Virginia right now!

I had a feeling that Jeff was going to ask that question

A "Ruby" is a "Curry"---so called because it is Rhyming slang for Ruby Murray, who was a popular singer---probably over 50 years ago.

Glad to hear you have bluebells in US too. !!

Ruby Murray was an Irish lass

I love Fish 'n' Chips, but they don't love me........................too fatty for my stomach  I do eat French Fries though, they are not as fatty  and fish in "breadcrumbs" or fish fingers  have you heard of fish fingers before Jeff :?:

L&H, I think you mean a "staple" diet

No, we definitely meant stable diet Robert and Marian it was calculated as the difference with the in-take of carbohydrates. Also, because we could have eaten horses in those times but had to be content with fish.

I love fish and chips but it is so hard to find a decent chippy here in Blackpool, people automatically associate blackpool with fish and chips, but you have to drive out of town for a really good one.

I am going along to the Hospice grounds this afternoon, to see if any bluebells are left--when I went a month ago, it was too early. So really hoping to see some there today.

That's surprising, no decent Fish and Chips in Blackpool John, :? :? we can't remember if we had Fish and Chips on our visits there. :? :?
not even when we've spent all day in the Tower Ballroom. They must have had Harry's cholesteral filled favourite on the menu,, The All Day Breakfast

That is your Harry I am talking about, although no doubt my Harry would love to get his teeth into an All-Day Breakast----if he got the chance !!!!
