They sell out so early of these in our Greggs shop Marian, but i've told the assistants MAHOMMAD and MOHOMMED of my plight, and so meantime it's got to be.

One of Peter's favourites from childhood Lena. Can't say I've ever cooked it for him.

 :!: Marian - Please tell me that Cafe Nero is not in Paddock Wood, Kent. I have an image of a charming little English village with thatch roof houses, a pond, and absolutely no high street chains (except maybe a Boots :? ).

I thought food was now off limits for this game. :) But I'll submit my favourite:

Relax Paul----Cafe Nero is in Tonbridge--the next big town, where I do my weekly shop. [Not the same town as Royal Tunbridge Wells]

But sad to say Paddock Wood is not quite as you imagine--it is now a small town--just one high street--no high street chains to speak of-not even Boots !!-and no village pond.

But there are lots of villages around the area , that are as you describe--Matfield, Yalding, Brenchley, Goudhurst, Horsmonden-just a few miles down the road.

I live in a village Paul, but it is quite a large one. Much bigger now than when we first came here 43 years ago.

My sister and I went to a 'Pudding Club' lunch last week.It was in aid of Childline.Every year the hostess makes 20 PUDDINGS and yes MAKES!
You pay £7.50 and then get to eat all or as many puds as you want.
I can't remember them all but there was,Bread and Butter Pudding,Treacle Sponge,Plum Crumble,Apple and Blackberry tart,Apple Strudel,Raspberry and Almond Rifle,Lemon Trifle,Chocolate Trifle,Creme Caramel,Fruit Salad(healthy)
a Ginger and Kiwi round thing, loads of different cheesecakes etc.all with non fattening(I lie) Custard and Double Cream.
Can't wait for next year, anyone want to come!! :D :D

Sounds wonderful, mouthwatering puddings, and I can't say there's even one there that I don't like   and at £7.50.
I've put on half a stone just reading about them :) :)

What a brilliant idea---there would have been a couple i would have passed on--trifles for example--and the apple tarts and sponges--but still lots there to try out.
