The movie .. "It always rains on Sunday" was filmed round the corner to us in our local shopping market.
They asked for people to walk up and down outside a Jewellers shop called Pennistons and one of the shots was my school friend Doreen's house.

That was interesting Lena--I saw the film as a young child, and was very impressed by it--not sure why ! So sad to see Bonar Colleano die so young.

Yes, he was only in his Thirty's I believe Marian, died in a car crash.
Googie Withers played the main role in that film though.
She was married to actor John McCallum who died on the 3rd of February this year.
They were married in 1948 and lived in Australia.
