The one I can think of at the moment is Michael Feinstein--and yes, of course you are right--Not really sure why that verse is nearly always neglected.

HELPING A FELLOW ALONG.
ONE COULD NOT SEE, ONE COULD NOT WALK MUCH.
BUT THEY BOTH WERE SINGING THIS SONG......
