13. THE WRONG IDEA ("Swing & Sweat" with Charlie Barnet --Lampooning the "Sweet Bands")

I saved one of the best for last! --- Check it out on "YouTube" -- Very Funny!!
The vocal on this song (1939) was by a young BILLY MAY!!

On this topic, let's name a popular "Sweet Band" from either the U.K. or U.S.A.

1. SAMMY KAYE (Swing & Sway...Not Swing & Sweat!)

My guess is anything that isn't heavy metal Marian but as they call groups a band nowadays we have plenty to choose from!

I can't believe that you cannot name any "Sweet Bands", also known a "Hotel Dance Bands"---
Some of the so-called "Swing Bands" played "sweet" slow dance music to which I'm sure you danced...
Glenn Miller's "Blue Evening", Tommy Dorsey's "I'll Never Smile Again", Harry James' "Sleep Lagoon".

I'll name 7 bands from the U.K that were in this category: 1. Ray Noble
2. Maurice Winnick, 3. Jack Hylton, 4. Joe Loss, 5. Teddy Joyce, 6.Billy Merrin, 7. Ambrose.
From the U.S. - 8. Jan Garber, 9. Blue Barron, 10. dick Jurgens, 11. Eddy Howard, !2. Vaughn Monroe
and last but not least--"The Sweetest Music This Side of Heaven"--13. Guy Lombardo (Mr. New Years Eve)

If you want to hear what a "Sweet Band" sounds like...Check out "You Tube" ---
My Personal Favorites are "It Isn't Fair" by S Kaye & "Enjoy Yourself" by Lombardo.

Here's a topic that should be easier for you over across the pond.....
Name a Male Singer from the 40s to the 60s that had a top hit single in the U.K. & name of the song---
1. HERE IN MY HEART - Al Martino

I think the name "Sweet band" confused us all. This next one should be easier.
