EGGHEAD CHALLENGE

Post by mariana44 » Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:31 pm

I do not know how many of you watch "Eggheads"-I watch it everyday, and really enjoy it-especially as I do not get to do any outside quizzes now [lost 3 members out of 5 in a very short time].

So to make it interesting, I have started to score myself, and today I got my highest score yet of 190.

So I thought it would be fun to have a challenge to see who can get the highest score of the week--you do not have to watch evey day, just when you can.

The rules for scoring are--

If you get a correct answer before they come up on the screen, that is 10 points.

If you get an answer , after they come on the screen--guesswork or not--that is 5 points.

If you get a correct tiebreak question, that is 20 points.

The total available in the 5 rounds is 300--plus more for any tiebreaks.

I am trying to get to 200 points.

So please post your scores-I want to see how smart you all are.

My score today was 150.

I started off really strongly on science--one of my worst subjects with --70 points---then only got another 80 in the last 4 rounds.

You can never tell !!

Sorry Marian, I love Eggheads and try to watch, but I am usually cooking dinner and it's a bit hit and miss! :D

Thanks Maureen & Harry--it did not occur to me that anyone would cheat. I usually tape it and watch it later, as it is on at a difficult time, I know.

I sometimes watch Eggheads, but usually watch the BBC news at 6.0

We like to watch it when we are about.

They are repeats at the moment but a new series starts at the end of August.

We will give it a go Marian :)

Robert--playing eggheads is more fun than watching the news.

I avoid the news as much as I can these days--it is just too depressing.

I am really pleased-I got 220 today--helped by getting both tie break questions.

The only news i look at is the Ceefax headlines--that is more than enough for me.

You did better than me on both nights Marian  I am still having to get John used to not shouting out the answers as 'I want to be alone' answering the questions

Hi Sandra---my scores vary quite a lot--eith I start strongly and finish weakly--or just have a weak game overall.

Maybe try and get John to compete against you--using a notepad !!!
