New Game: Matt Monro Jeopardy!

Post by paul jh » Fri Aug 17, 2007 11:15 pm

In honour of Merv Griffin, who sadly passed away last weekend, I thought of this new game. Merv Griffin and his wife created the TV game Jeopardy! where the contestants are given the answers and they have to guess the question. (Some of you may know Merv Griffin as the lead singer of "I've Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" recording by Freddy Martin and his Orchestra many years ago. He was reported to be one of the nicest men in the entertainment business. For over 20 years he did an interview program like Parkinson, but his was five days a week; I even went to a taping in 1985.)

So the game rules are:

Think of a question about Matt Monro. Give us the answer. Then we will have to guess the question. It must be in the form of a question. The person with the correct question then provides the next answer. Let's see how well we know our Matt Monro trivia!

Here's an example.

The answer is:

Mitchell, Michele, and Matthew

You would provide the question as:

What are the names of Matt Monro's three children?

Here's a real easy one to get you started. Since I won't be around this weekend, please carry with the game.

The answer is:

Terence Edward Parsons

Please provide the question.

We have often discussed Merv Griffin on GMMY Paul, and were sad to hear of his passing.
His recording of "Loverly Bunch Of Coconuts" is brilliant and even better than Billy Cottons.

Anyway, sounds like a good game Paul..... QUESTION.....

WHAT WAS MATT'S FULL BIRTH NAME BEFORE HE CHANGED IT TO MATT MONRO.

The ANSWER.. is.. SHOREDITCH. LONDON.
