New Game: Favourite singer: Worst Song(s)

I thought it might be interesting to nominate the tracks from our favourite performers that we hate/dislike and which even they can't redeem for us.
Anyone want to start the ball rolling?

I'll dip my toe in first and say Matt Monro: On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (hate the orchestration on it).

Never thought I'd see a post from you saying that you hate JM singing anything, but I know what you mean: every artist has recorded their duds (though "Rose Garden" is not one of his that's on my Room 101 list). But there are some, and I'm going to make a list and post them for interest's sake.

Do you "hate" his version of Rose Garden because of his interpretation (though it's much like the original, I think) or because of the song itself? In posting their thoughts I think forumites should specify the reason they dislike their nominated recordings - interpretation, arrangement, tempo, whatever.

I usually love everything "The Carpenters" do, but this one does not sound good to me---much too slow--

I disliked this song so much that it turned me off on future Carpenters songs for awhile. Years later, I listened to it again -- thinking I might like it since I was older and wiser. I still don't like it. It's the guitar solo that really bothers me, plus it's just not a good song.

I don't like The Carpenter's version of Ticket To Ride either Marian. I am in agreement with Matt's "Why Can't I Touch You" also, although I think the tune is quite catchy.

Gray--Paul is not saying he does not like "Ticket to ride"--he does not like "Superstar"--it is John and I who do not like "Ticket to ride"--the song itself ok--we just do not like this version of it .

Just a further clarification: I said that I dislike Goodbye To Love by the Carpenters immensely. I like Ticket To Ride by the Carpenters and the Beatles and love and adore Superstar at astronomical proportions.

I can understand your confusion Gray when I wrote "this song" and the previous post was about TTR.
