The "What Song Does That Line Comes From" Game
The "What Song Does That Line Comes From" Game
A new game, simple rules really, post a line from a song associated with Matt Monro, and then we try to guess the song title. (no search engines or googling to find the answers, unless you're really stuck though) Whoever guesses takes the next go.
And if by chance someone selects a line that comes from a song that has a special meaning for you, then tell us all why.
I'll start off with the line
"Once I thought that you were my true love, your kisses were my very own"

Hi Marty and everyone. Were not getting very far with this game at the moment. Shall we start again, but with easier lyrics to get the ball rolling.
A very easy one to start with-
"It might have been in County Down or in New York
or gay Paris or even London town"
My tears will fall now that your gone

Hi---yes that last one was a bit easier---"Arond the World" I Think.
Here is my one--
"And we were happy, that moment in our lives
And through my sadness, that happiness survives."

what song are these lines from
Hi Robert---sorry, those words are not from the song "The Precious Moments" Here is a clue--it is a theme from a film, but the film does not have the same title as the song! Marian

What Song Does That Line Come From
Hi Marian, I'm going to confuse everyone now, as it's the other Marian...
I think it's from the film "The Sand Pebbles" and the song is "And we were lovers".

Hi Edgar!
You've chosen my fave - the one and only Sunrise Sunset - the most wondeful of renditions by Matt Monro and as I have waffled on in other areas of this forum, the song most likely to leave me with a lump in my throat.
Ok, everyone, try this...
"Always posing, but you love it all,
But you have to learn to act like you're above it all"

what song does that line come from
Hi---firstly to the "other" Marian--well done--it was "And we were Lovers"--one of my favourite songs of Matt.
I think the last one is "If I never write another Song".
My new one is another of my favourites--
"So my darling, if you want me, call me--in the hush of the evening,
When you call me, in the hush of the evening ,I'll rush to my first real romance"
