The orchestral intro arrangement is the same as Matt's version, but it is not his voice!
Is it legal to copy the intro like they did?? The vocalist sounds like an anemic Michael Buble!

It depends. The arranger and the composer are one and the same for Born Free - John Barry. So in theory the introductions is actually part of the composition not the arrangement.

In any case providing you pay a royalty to Mr Barry's estate you can do what you like - Publishers (and sometimes writers) have the right of veto but don't often use it, they make money out of it after all!

I saw an advert last night i wasn't really looking at first then heard the intro and my ears pricked up,I was that busy waiting to hear the voice that I don't
know what the advert was about, but it definightly wasn't Matt singing Born Free.

The singer sounded American to me.

I did post a few days ago on the Foxy Advert thread. The singer is Lance Ellington, the singer from the Strictly Come Dancing, and son of band leader Ray Ellington
