Matt on Morecombe & Wise?

Post by michduncg » Sun Dec 10, 2006 10:30 pm

Hello all

Just curious if Matt ever appeared as a guest of 'Morecombe and Wise'? Have seen all sorts of stars as 'stooges' alongside Eric & Ernie, just wondering if Matt ever did? If so, is this clip available anywhere?

I do not ever remember seeing Matt with Eric and Ernie.

I think they would have made a great threesome!

I know - my comedy heros! Still funny 30 or 40 years on! I am sure Michelle will let us know. I still cry at the 'Andre Preview' sketch.

I am playing all the right notes, ......but not necessarily in the right order

I have a video of Matt appearing with Eric and Ernie, but it's not very good quality. He just sings one song.

Marian.

I'll save Michele the bother here!

I don't know, doesn't anybody look at the Website properly. I don't know, daft lot you are!

Matt appeared on Morecambe and Wise 4 Times. Some of these shows still exist in the archives too! 1 at ATV 3 at BBC (list says BBC but was their last ATV Series)

It's not an easy Job to find out what exists and doesn't though!

I'm sure I remember seeing Matt on TV with Morecambe and Wise when I was young. In the book that comes with the "Singers Singer" there is a photo of Matt and Ernie, sat at an outdoor table, in swimwear I think.

All Matt's appearances with Morecambe and Wise are listed on his TV appearances.

You're right Richard - must admit that I tend to ask a question in the forum rather than check out the website itself. sorry!

M & W were awesome Marian, wonderful wholesome family entertainment.

Who was the lady that used to come at the end and say goodnight and thank everybody for being on her show?!

Pretty sure her name was JANET WEBB.
Just looked at the M&W show I have and that's THANKS too, so probably the same show Jon mentioned, from 1971.

Having now read the full TV listing, I was surprised to see the 'Wonder of Woolworths' was as late as 1975, so pretty sure that I can just about remember seeing them on TV - went on for a whole commercial break!

Oh no -sorry to be the cause of another 'senior' moment Marian  . But as I have said before, I think these fall foul of new age-discrimination legislation and would prefer it if you would use the phrase 'mature and life experienced individuals recall difficulty phenomenon'
