Article in Telegraph from 2004.

An interesting article from The Telegraph in 2004 by Anthony Peregrine
called Tales by the Riverbank correctly comments that if Matt Monro had been french, he would have had a square named after him.

Robert, Go to the site and key in Anthony Peregrine's name in the search box and scroll to the second page and you'll find the article.. Tales Of The Riverbank there.
I read another of his tales there of when he returned to London for a visit after living in France for a few years, quite interesting and amusing.

Further to the arguement...

There is the Frank Sinatra school of Arts in the USA and the local post office in Hoboken now carries his name.

A 15 ft statue to Sammy Davis Jnr is currently under construction by a renowned artist.

Wouldn't it be lovely if a British Artist were to make a statue of Matt Monro
sometime in the future.

That is my point.
