Harry Belafonte wasn't our cup of tea on the BBC4 programmes but we enjoy Dusty.Especially the 2nd show with The Four Freshmen.
Wonder what you are thinking of the latest Jack Savoretti Karl

I only saw a couple of the songs of Harry Belafonte which I liked Sandra while I was waiting for Emmerdale to come on, however I did have a look on iplayer later on and wasn't keen on the rest of the songs either.

I'd forgotten his latest cd has been re-released as a double featuring You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, I don't know much about him but having listened recently - he can sing. Good to see that song still being recorded after all these years. However in my opinion that song is to Dusty what Over The Rainbow was to Judy Garland and nobody can sing it quite like them and much as I like Elvis I never forgave him for his version!

I agree that Dusty sang the definite version of You Don't Have to Say You Love Me. No one can match it. There is a quality in her voice that simply works for her songs. It's the same with Wishin' and Hopin', Son of a Preacher Man, The Look of Love, All I See is You, In Private, and A Brand New Me. Only she should sing those songs.

I was furious when so many people tried to sing Son of a Preacher Man on TV talent shows a few years back. I couldn't listen to any of them.

I did like Matt Monro singing I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten, and Swing Out Sister singing Am I That Same Girl.

Now I need to find a video of Shirley Bassey singing on the awards show.

Paul I Actually bought Swing Out Sister singing Am I The Same Girl and I also have a cd of Barbara Acklin's version, however I first heard it as an instrumental (Soulful Strut) by Peter Nero and I did get to see Dusty sing it live as I was in the audience for her last tv show of the final series.

Yes it was Robert apart from a one-off show called Music My Way.
By the way although she sang Am I The Same Girl that night they pieced it
into the second show. The magic of televsion!
By the way did anyone see Mel Torme as a guest of Dusty last night, he was great
and I liked their duet.
