We've seen very few re-makes of films, but any classic filma like Wuthering Heights whether on the screen or TV in our opinion should never be attempted, but that's the age thing again I expect.

Yes, Mrs Brown's Boys is up for a TV award Gray. Not generally in favour of watching bad language etc that's dished up today, some situations I can accept, some I can't, often feeling uncomfortable when they are just pushing the boundaries.

I agree with all your comments, Lena.
Re: What Movies Have Been Playing On Your DVD/Video Lately?
Watched the unforgettable Sid James programme the other night, really enjoyable it was too
they were talking to some of the Carry On cast during the show.............Liz Fraser is obviously older now, but she looked just the same as she did all those years ago...........honest

Hmmm let's see, last night I was watching "Downton Abbey" and mixing it up with "The Cazalets", "Doctor Who Series 5", "Law and Order UK" and today I picked up "Yogi Bear". I may be in a mood to watch "Shaun the Sheep" or maybe "The Expendables" for the umpteenth time.

Robert, we used to go to Hendon dog track in the late Sixties and Liz Frazer, very down to earth and friendly, was often there watching her greyhounds racing. They didn't win too often either.

Re: What Movies Have Been Playing On Your DVD/Video Lately?
Yes, Liz Fraser hasn't changed much over the years, has she? I remember seeing this a couple of years ago.
Robert, I finally got around to watching a dvd you talked about months ago last night, a PBS dvd, Rock and Roll at 50. Enjoyed it, and most of the groups and singers were still singing pretty well.

Yes, I have quite a few of this type of dvd's and the majority are good, but we watched one about a week ago, not a PBS one but similar and it was pretty dreadful.
Re: What Movies Have Been Playing On Your DVD/Video Lately?
We watched Wake Wood last night, the first Hammer film made in over 25 years. Good film, hope there will be more to come.
Re: What Movies Have Been Playing On Your DVD/Video Lately?
Cool! I like the Hammer films. I remember watching Christopher Lee's Dracula films in the theatres with my Mom, siblings and Dad. I 'd bury my face in my Dad's chest to hide so I wouldn't see his eyes. I was all talk outside the theatre, but once inside was a different story. The Hammer films were scary, unlike the horror films today which are just slash, slash, slash, with numerous sex scenes which take away from the story itself.
Re: What Movies Have Been Playing On Your DVD/Video Lately?
They always put a Hammer horror film on TV on Friday nights many years ago, Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolf etc........I used to watch them with other family members, but I was terrified while watching those films and that's with the living room light on
..............I still don't like those horror movies

Hey Robert,
You aren't alone. To this day I can't watch a Christopher Lee Dracula movie by myself, I have to have my Dad with me. Yet he love the Hammer films he says they were the scariest besides old Bela Lugosi. LOL..I'm ok with the others or any other horror film, but no way will I watch Christopher Lee!!! Must've been seeing those eyes on the big screen that freaked me out!

I remember Robert very well they used to be on a Friday night before the channels closed down for the night. My mum often used to let me stay up and watch them with her as I didn't have school the next morning. They used to put a lot of the old black and white ones as well with Boris Karlof and Bela Lugosi. Those were the days!
Re: What Movies Have Been Playing On Your DVD/Video Lately?
John used to take me to all the Hammer horror films when we were first together as I loved them all even though I used to hide my face half of the time.
I used to buy all of the Pan Hammer Horror omnibus paperbacks too.
Years later he shattered my illusions by telling me that he hated every moment of them
