Went to see the new 'Alien' film last night - Prometheus.
Was really looking forward to it, but oh my word, what a turkey.

Gray, exactly and to think it was gonna be good, I saw it in I-Max 3-D....what a rip..I knew it was gonna be bad after the first 15 minutes... Gee I wish they would get around to making movies like the did in the past.. This one seemed more concentrated on the effects than the storyline. If I could have thrown my popcorn and soda at the screen I would have but then the poor people plus I couldn't throw that far!!

:)
You never know, Eman, if you had thrown the popcorn in the sandstorm sequence the other patrons may of turned to one another and said, "Gee, this 3-D is something special" :)

Re the movie: I couldn't believe how corny and often just plain silly the plot and characters were.
I guess the lesson is (once again) don't believe the hype.

I watched the American remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo the other night, I think the European version is the better.

Gray you are so spot on! What a waste of Daniel Craig's acting.
Saw the following:
Rock of Ages - Funny and good
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - Lol it's suppose to be serious but really Abe Lincoln fighting vampires to stop slavery! The plot is the vampires were using slavery and slaves for food! How absurd is that plot line!! This is a wait for dvd to rent or broadcast on tv! It was so surreal I laughed through the whole thing!!

Hi Eman

Which cinema do you visit, is there a picture of it online?

Here is mine:
http://www.york360.co.uk/gallery6/pictu ... a-york.htm

It has only three screens, but is a cracking independant theatre that shows a lot of oldies and European movies, alongside the Hollywood blockbusters.

I do fancy seeing 'Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter' - I wonder if we will get a UK remake - The Tony Blair Witch Project :)

Gray,

Thanks, Robert, it is a really nice place, the City Screen has a riverside bar and cafe, so it has a really nice atmosphere to watch a film in.

Very nice cinema, Eman. I much prefer the weather you get with your cinema too! :)
I can't wait to see 'Brave', well at least my daughters can't wait :)

Hey Gray!
I figured I'd show you one of my favourite spots in San Diego, it's called La Jolla, and I just love to go to the beach there or just go walking in the park or bringing a chair and just reading like these folks. This is a pic from the net though.

You should think about vacationing here in San Diego which is known as America's Finest City, because we have good weather most of the time, however when it rains it's horrid!!!

I think your daughter will love Brave, great story and the actors doing the voices are ace!! I may go see it again this 4th of July (Independence Day) weekend.

Hi Eman, Peter were at La Jolla a few years back, we went to meet someone in an office over a children's book store, I think it was called The White Rabbit. We didn't see much of the beach but what we did see was beautiful. Lots of people with lots of money in that area! :D

Marian, yep, it's a ritzy neighborhood, but I'm attacted to the parks, beaches and of course the little shops and restaurants and stuff. I've heard of that bookstore "The White Rabbit". :D

You're so welcome Gray, figured I'd try to get some San Diego, sunshine out your way!! :D
Here's how our weather is looking today. This is a shot of San Diego Bay of course from the internet, but a typical all year round picture even during winter.
