Cabin In The Woods, John, I agree with you!!! That's one of those seen it once, and that's all I need to see type movies.
Been watching a blu-ray of the documentary "Produced by George Martin". I was hoping he'd mention our Matt, and I believe he did, but one thing I know for sure, the first song they played when they showed George Martin and his wife driving around was "Portrait Of My Love". I thought that was awesome!!

I saw a film called "Serendipity" last night, that I had copied from the tv--starring Kate Beckinsale.

It was such a lovely , sweet, romantic, funny film, but interesting, because they split up, then tried to get back together, but kept missing each other---until the end---where they met up in New York, on a skating rink, at night--no-one else around--just the snow drifting down gently, as they skated together. .

That is my kind of film.

I have never seen Serendipity, Marian.
I am glad you liked it.

I went to see The Sweeney at the cinema last night.
What a load of rubbish!
Sounds like I should of watched Serendipity instead. :)

I agree Marian,Serendipity was a lovely film.

I am sorry that The Sweeney didn't live up to expectations Gray especially with The great Ray Winstone it it.
Myself and two more lady friends of a certain age had the same experience this week with Hope Springs starring our favourite Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones.
Mildly amusing.A few people walked out.Certainly not a 'mans film' and only probably for the female population over 40

We nearly went to see 'Hope Springs' this week Sandra, when our electricity off for most of the day, but I read a few reviews and decided against it! Glad we did :) .

Hi Sandra, Hope Springs has two great leading actors in Streep & Jones, what a shame it didn't live up to expectations.

I wonder if anyone else on the forum has ever walked out of a film in the cinema?
If you have, could you let us know please?
Thank you! :)

Many, many years ago Gray-1965 actually! We went to the cinema weekly then ,and saw a film called THE LOVED ONE with Rod Steiger and yes-Liberace.
It was a black comedy set in a pet cemetary in California. If it was a black comedy we didn't get it and walked out halfway through. It has stayed in my mind to this day

I never waked out if a film myself--but George dd once--the film was "Gold" with Susannah York and Roger Moore--and at the beginning, it was set in a Gold mine, and there was an accident in the mine, and one of the miners got trapped---someone was sent down to help, and the only option was to cut off the Miner's leg---I could feel that George was uneasy next to me--but at this stage he vanished, saying he did not feel well !!!

Would you believe I watched 'Gold' on dvd about a week ago, Marian! :)
The scene you refer to is very intense so I can understand how George felt!

Thank you for sharing that.
