I agree Karl ....i love the old films with Doris Day and Jerry Lewis lol.....Olaf in Frozen reminds me of Jerry lol.....special affects have their place but when it replaces most of the acting i don't enjoy as much ....can't wait for Spider-Man ...Good Friday here i think

Did you ever watch Glengarry Glen Ross? It was full of wonderful actors but every other word was F, they could not say a sentence without using that word at least twice.

Bring back The Waltons & Little House On The Prairie!
Their is a channel called True Entertainment that shows The Waltons and Little House On The Prairie all the time now. Also on his Highway To Heaven does anyone remember who was in it-Michael someone?I think he played an angel :?:

I remember that TV series, Sandra :)

Michael Landon was the actor who appeared in the show, I think he died tragically young...cancer I seem to recall.

Good to see you again, Gray.
You were featured recently on the Poetry
thread, page 56. You even inspired a few lines
of verse.

Gray I just watched a great dvd with Harrison Ford & Brendan Fraser, Extraordinary Measures. It's based on a true story and the extras have the real parents talking.

Both actors are wonderful in their roles as is Keri Russell as the mother.

I've had the dvd for ages but I'm slowly working my way through my dvd's and have already put four that I didn't like to one side for the charity shop.

Watched a dvd of The Soldiers in concert, reallk enjoyed it and they performed a very wide range of songs including Bring Him Home, they really got the audience going near the end when they did Status Quo's Rocking All Over The World, everyone was on their feet and even an elderly lady was dancing.

Three very talented guys.

Gray actually out of the four there were two I just did not like, the other two now that I've watched them I don't want to keep them, the titles are:-
The Deceivers - Pierce Brosnan
Mothernight- Nick Nolte (didn't like but watched it all)
Zorba The Greek - Anthony Quinn & Alan Bates ( I gave up after 20 minutes)
The Bravados - Gregory Peck (I like Gregory but don't want to keep this)

I saw the last ten minutes of Marley & Me on tv yesterday, I saw it some years ago on a flight but I feel I can never really concentrate on a film on a plane and I did not remember the sad ending - it always amazes me how they can get a dog to act that way.

12 YEARS A SLAVE at our Senior Screen yesterday.Terrible subject matter of course.I do wonder what the
white Americans think of their ancestors from those times.
Wonderful acting too but found it overlong.Has anyone else seen it?

Haven't seen it Sandra subject matter for me too brutal at the moment ....but I remember Roots ....what an amazing tv series...that spoke to me about the plight of slaves ....and for its time it was brutal in places ...especially for a 16 year old to watch ....and the characters ....who can forget Chicken George? ...have stayed with me .....
