Listening to the CD of West Side Story tonight :) apart from two wonderful songs Maria and Somewhere it's a musical that I've never really taken too

What about the action between the Jets and the Sharks---and the song "America"---and Maria singing "I feel pretty"---and "Gee officer Krupke"---and "Somethings coming"---and "One hand, one Heart"---and Maria and Tony singing "Tonight"---and poor Tony dying right at the end---
It is a fabulous film--I love it.

Probably watching it is more exciting than listening to the cd, but nevertheless, plenty of great songs , as well as Maria and Somewhere.

I know what you mean Marian, watching all these musicals is a much better experience than just listening to them............ something is lost along the way.................probably the storyline.................... as the plot of many musicals makes one feel more attached to them :) ...............as well as the songs of course

More importantly, Robert, is his love of a certain football team.

Do you know, lena, I know nothing of Ronnie Hilton's work other than his Leeds United songs?
I must try to investigate.

Gray--you must know at least one of his songs--but I forget the title--it may be called "A mouse in Amsterdam"

Would that be "A mouse where, there on the stair, where on the stair, right there, a little mouse with clogs on, well, I declare, going clip-clippity-hop on the stair"? If so, that was one of my favourite childhood songs. If not, then I'm being silly.
