Listening to the CD of West Side Story tonight apart from two wonderful songs Maria and Somewhere it's a musical that I've never really taken too

What about the action between the Jets and the Sharks---and the song "America"---and Maria singing "I feel pretty"---and "Gee officer Krupke"---and "Somethings coming"---and "One hand, one Heart"---and Maria and Tony singing "Tonight"---and poor Tony dying right at the end---
It is a fabulous film--I love it.

Probably watching it is more exciting than listening to the cd, but nevertheless, plenty of great songs , as well as Maria and Somewhere.

I know what you mean Marian, watching all these musicals is a much better experience than just listening to them............ something is lost along the way.................probably the storyline.................... as the plot of many musicals makes one feel more attached to them ...............as well as the songs of course
