I watched three wonderful music shows on cable this week Andy Williams Duets and among his guests were Pearly Bailey (what a personality), Tony Bennett & Judy Garland etc:
Then I watched Frank Sinatra with Don Costa another great show and the last was Andre Rieu in Maastricht and among his guests Jermaine Jackson who is a better singer than Michael (IMO) and Trini Lopez - how great to see him again and he really got the audience going with If I Had A Hammer and La Bamba.

Put Jukebox Saturday Night on tonight from 1983 ...........all the performers have now left us........Keely Smith, Bea Wain and Herb Jeffries were the remaining artists alive, but they have all gone now :( ..........its music from the 40's early 50's era ..............didn't watch all of it, tonight I just watched the lovely Helen O' Connell four song segment "twice" ........I adore it :)

….…..have watched three more performers on Jukebox Saturday Night :) ………..Betty Hutton, Bea Wain and Keeley Smith...…...If I remember correctly there is still the great segment by the Bob Crosby band still to come...………..all the performers used Glenn Osser as their musical director during the show but Keely Smith used a different musical director, probably her own MD, but she was the only one to do so …………….the great musical director and arranger Glenn Osser passed away in 2014 just short of his 100th birthday.

Moments To Remember. A PBS music dvd with stars of the 50's and 60's singer their old hits. Patti Page, Julius Larosa, Frankie Laine to name but a few. One of my favourites, and sadly a lot of these no longer with us.

Those TV specials that PBS recorded over the years John were absolutely fantastic weren't they ……...it's a good job most of them are available on copied DVDs for us to enjoy so much...……..as you may gather my favourite is Jukebox Saturday Night recorded in March 1983 :)

How many are enjoying the wonderful BBC non musical adaptation of Les Miserables :) ……………..I don't usually watch many of the drama series BBC or ITV show but I have been glued to this fantastic 6 part series …………...the stellar cast include Dominic West who's portrayal of Jean Valjean is totally awesome and for me he is nailed on for a Bafta or a Golden Globe ….…...he was born to play the role of Jean Valjean :) ………….the all star cast also includes this years Golden Globe winner Olivia Coleman...…..David Oyelowo as Inspector Javert...………..and Lily Collins who played the thoroughly unforgettable portrayal of Fantine ……...she is actually the daughter of musician Phil Collins ……………...if this adaptation of Les Mis doesn't win gongs in the near future then I'm a monkey's uncle

I wrote about the BBC's wonderful 6 part drama of Les Mis three weeks ago …………...it has been mentioned on another page on the forum over the weekend, but nobody replied to my post of three weeks ago so I assumed I was the only forum member watching it but obviously not ………. it would have been nice to have had a reply to my original post from other forum members stating how much they were enjoying the series too !
