I normally don't buy Bette Midler CDs but her Peggy Lee songbook was in the bargain bin for less than 2 pounds and it was a sealed import from EU. I understand the U.S version comes with a DVD of some rare Peggy Lee footage.
Does anyone on this board like Peggy Lee?
Do you think she was overrated?

We are listening to Matt's "PORTRAIT OF MY LOVE".
A guest agreed with Eric Hall that he was the best singer that Britain ever had,.. and so say all of us

You're right Lena and Harry, although one of them was only a fiver, but the other £9.00. Still, have enjoyed listening to them, especially the Rosemary Clooney one.

Matt, the best singer Britain ever produced..................they should have gone further, and said the best singer the WORLD has ever produced
Terence, I think Peggy Lee is a singer you can either take or leave
she made one or two wonderful recordings though, including the best version of The Folks Who Live on the Hill
and from the Disney film The Lady is A Tramp

I have been listening to some, and copying, some LP's of Vic Damone and Perry Como tonight, haven't listened to them for years, all later songs from the seventies and eighties, but really lovely.

Listening to Perry Como singing "Regrets" now.

Talking of Engelbert in the other sections we have been listening to his '15 Love Songs' and think most of the tracks are good.
Our favourite though is 'Quando Quando'.

There must have been dozens of recordings of 'Love Is A Many Splendoured Thing' over the years but listening again to Matts version it is truly beautiful

Yes, I heard it Sandra, and yet of late Michaels programme has been one that I can take or leave, but we can't have the music that we like all the time.

Just listening to our Matt singing Laura. This is in memory of the late Bobby Robson. Eric Hall told a funny story of a meeting and talking with Bobby Robson, and Frank Sinatra and Matt were his Two favourite singers and he loved this song by Matt.
