I now 'listen again' to your Eric Hall on a Monday Lena and Harry-great show.
We have a local station Radio Lincolnshire. On Sunday afternoons 3 till 5 Howard Leader plays 'swing music'.Today he interviewed someone who edits the Frank Sinatra Society magazine and talked about an annual convention .Do you go to it?
From 5 until 6 on the same day he plays 'pop' from the 50's until the early 60's-my cup of tea. :D

We haven't tuned in to Radio Lincolnshire Sandra, but it's good to know that quite a few are playing our kind of music. We'll have to give it a try.
We haven't been to the Sinatra convention for the past Three years, but it's an enjoyable day.
There are stalls out selling music and memorabillia, a restaurant and bar and then the concert in the afternoon, this year it's Matthew Ford, with Paul Lacey's Back To Basie Orchestra.
Unless a sudden urge, we haven't planned to go, having several things going on at that time, although we have heard how good Matthew Ford is and would like to see him, plus a good band too. :)

This morning, I've been in the mood for the works of Marty Paich, starting with Jack Jones' If You Ever Leave Me, and now, The 1956 Torme-Paich Legendary Sessions.

Just got some more Ed Ames lp's from the U.S. so have been listening to one of those tonight. Some great songs, and good cover versions of songs like Two Different Worlds and Bridge Over Troubled Water. :D

We listened Paul O Grady's show while moving at speeds of Two miles an hour on the m4 this evening.
He played Matt's... Softly As I Leave You, and when Matt finished with... As I leave you there Paul said ...shut the door as you go out Matt

I've been enjoying a CD I had converted from vinyl just this year: Tony Bennett - Listen Easy. After purchasing the out-of-print CD, If I Ruled the World, I decided I wanted to hear more of Bennett and Don Costa, and this title is just as wonderful. I grew up hearing my Mom play Bennett's most popular LPs all the time - I Left My Heart In San Francisco and I Wanna Be Around - and I now realize that Tony's work is not accurately represented by popularity, greatest hits collections, or what's currently in print. I'll definitely be seeking out more of the forgotten titles (and glad to know that someone with Mark's great knowledge and appreciation of Tony's career agrees about the quality of this old work :D ).
