Hi Lena and Harry--thanks for that---how did you guess I was using "Glenn" and not "Glen"---found the clip Ok, at last---but it keeps sticking---5 seconds on--5 seconds stop--etc etc etc. I'll try again next time I log on .

The David Gates version of Aubrey is also a great version---I cannot say I have ever heard it on radio-like a lot of these tracks, you only hear them when you buy the Lp/Cd etc.

The Seekers were a great singing group John, and as far as we remember were more popular here than in Australia.
Tom Springfield who was Dusty Springfields Brother wrote their number One single, " I'll never find another you". Judith Durham had a really beautiful voice, so clear and distinct.
We're listening to Bobby Darin singing "You Just don't know" from his CD "Talk to the animals"

Hi Lena & Harry and John - fellow Seekers fan here too and love Judiths voice. Their music is just so simple and clear - 'Colours of my life' being my overall favourite. Some good cine footage of 60s concerts on youtube

No music on at the moment but have had loads of Christmas tracks on today over lunch. 'Silver bells' by Doris Day is wonderful, and 'No place like home for the holidays' by Andy Williams or Garth Brookes are also great 'holiday' tracks

And finally Lena & Harry - glad you've been enjoying more Bobby Darin  Listen to him, Eydie and Matt at least once a day on my ipod on way into and out of London

Nat King Cole's Christmas album is on now. His stunning version of The Christmas Song is definitive.

Listening to Gordon Lightfoots album "If You Could Read My Mind" tonight. I believe he is a Canadian singer/songwriter, who's biggest hit was the already mentioned "If You Could Read My Mind" a really nice song 8)

Robert

I also like "If You Could Read My Mind". Johnny Mathis recorded this on a 1971 album. Similar arrangement to Gordon Lightfoot's original. I love the words of the song. Not sure what they mean though.

I like Norman Wisdom as well Robert, especially Don't Laugh At Me Because I'm A Fool, and several others from his films. :P
