There was about half an hour missing from the middle of the film. Some of it was irrevelant but it made the story rather more puzzling.

See what you think anyway. It's not at all what you would ever have expected from JJ

Watched the biography of Elizabeth Montgomery last night. It has been on several times before but I have always missed it for one reason or the other. When we discussed our favourite comedies on the forum several months ago, I mentioned "Bewitched" was one of my all time American comedies.

Unfortunately we missed that John, but we did watch, for practically the entire evening on Monday... Marty Feldman on BBC 4.
We met him at rehearsals at the Boys club where we were involved years ago.
We didn't realise then however what a brilliant performer he was, spending a great deal of his time in America and was likened to the great Buster Keaton.

I taped the Marty Feldman night, looking forward to seeing it when i get chance.
I remember him in Young Frankenstein picking a damaged brain from a jar in a laboratory for the use in the monster thinking the previous owner was named 'Abby Normal'.

We are sure that you will enjoy watching Marty Feldman Gray.
Apparently his obvious feature being his bulging eyes was caused by an operation that he had for an over-active thyroid gland, which thankfully nowadays is sucessfully treated.

I watched 'The Comeback' this weekend, and do you know what, I didn't mind it!

I was a bit shocked at the content, not at all what I expected - you were right!

- but it was a decent little movie I thought.
I wish I could somehow get hold of the 'extended' version you refer to, because the final revelation at the end seemed to come from nowhere, but that being said, it kept me hooked.

Thanks for the tip off about it, a film I haven't seen before.

Pleased you quite liked it Gray. It is a bit of a shocker for JJ to have done though isn't it? The plot is a bit involved and confusing I must admit, even in the longer version. If you had a copy with the transvestite bit in the middle, you had the full version! Can't think how else to describe it, but that part is never explained anyway.

Yes, the version I saw had that bit in the middle, so it looks as though I did see the full version.
Thanks again for mentioning it - it is a film I had never seen, and apart from his appearence on Morecambe & Wise, the only thing I've ever seen JJ do!

Pebble Mill at One was a cracking program, Robert, used to watch it as a kid growing up.

I have loads of JJ material on video including old series like "The Nancy Drew Mysteries" and "The Rat Patrol" Jack appeared in, "Condominium" an awful tv disaster drama, "The Royal Variety Show," numerous appearances on U.S. tv shows, etc. He even had his own series over here for the BBC, which was when I first became aware of him in the early seventies.
"Larry King Live" is another, paying tribute to song writers like Harold Arlen with other singers like Michael Feinstein and Margaret Whiting.
His most recent tv spoof drama was with Rob Brydon, Steve Coogan and David Walliams, filmed on a cruise ship off Greece, entitled "Cruise of the Gods".

I used to watch Pebble Mill as well. I think Matt appeared on the show several times. Shame you don't have a couple of these Marian.

I didn't realise Jack Jones was in all these shows and films.

Yes john, Matt also appeared on Pebble Mill many times, but I wasn't a fan in those day's
