Was listening to Jane Olivor's "First Night" on vinyl and then for fun "Tina Charles' Greatest Hits". What can I say I'm a 70's child!

You can guess what happened--I missed Matt again last night-I know I heard part of Daavid Jacobs-I remember the Sammy Kahn common denominator. !!

Just 'listened again' to David Jacobs playing 'Stardust' and before the song he said:
''If you'd known him you couldn't have had a better friend than Matt Monro''.
What a wonderful comment

Jane has a great voice, her duet with Johnny Mathis is really good.mariana44 wrote:Eman--I love Jane Olivor-she is so rarely mentioned on here--I have "First Night" plus another 3 or 4 cds of hers.

I have one of her cd's Stay The Night I think is the title.

I have 5 Jane Olivor cds--but not "STAY THE NIGHT". The duet with Johnny Mathis was the favourite track by JM for George.
It was from a film called "Same time Next year", but the film had a longer version, played throughout.
My favourite track of Jane is "One more ride on the Merry go round"--Neil Sedaka song.

Wow! I only have "First Night" and "Stay The Night" on lps from when I was a teenager. My favourite songs would have to be "Morning Noon and Nighttime", "Come Softly to Me" , "He's So Fine" and her cover of David Cassidy's "My First Night Alone Without You" has to be my ultimate fave by her!mariana44 wrote:I have 5 Jane Olivor cds--but not "STAY THE NIGHT". Never really cared much for his voice John I always thought it quite weak.john wrote:Been listening to Ronnie Carroll tonight.

I decided to do some checking on Jane Olivor as I really don't know much about her, I then went to Play.com and typed in her name and it said "Do You Mean Jamie Oliver" I was sorely tempted to type "No I B****Y dont" !!!!

LOL! Karl that's pretty funny. I get the same thing when I type in some bands from my childhood like "Kenny" ,the "Dead End Kids" (from Scotland..LOL Rollers rip off) or "Buster". It's like these guys never existed but I know they were really big in Japan of all places.

Back to Jane Olivor-I thought I had "Stay the Night"-but it ois not where it should be. in the "O"s.
My cds are called "Best side of goodbye" "in concert" "so fine! "first night "and "chasing rainbows"
-i have had them all ages--it is quite possible , I bought some of them in US-I cannot remember.
I have alse seen her singing live at a Johnny Mathis concert.
