Have you heard Art Garfunkel's cd "Some enchanted evening"---another of my favourite singers--I do have a long long list of favourites. Although that is not my favourite of his cds.

I only like him with Simon and Garfunkel. I have some of his solo stuff, but not that one. There's an American singer named "John Tronnes" and he's pretty good and I also like "John Barrowman" and not because he's Capt Jack from Doctor Who and Torchwood. LOL.

From Matt Monro With Love

I was surprised to hear him sing an into on When I Fall In Love as I've never heard it on that song before, Ella Fitzgerald did that a lot with her songs.

The intro to that song is great--Karen Capenter includes it in her version too--but I had heard the song many times, before I realised it has a verse. I just love it when a singer includes the verse--Johnny Mathis does this a lot--and in fact, the first time I heard the verse to "Fly me to the Moon" was at a JM concert.

We had a game sat one time, where we had to guess the song from the words of the verse--not always easy with no music--it was one of my favourite games.

Been listening to a nice mixture tonight. Matt's Manilla concert, Patti Page, then Perry Como's 60's singles cd. :D

I have had it for a while (years) without ever playing it...........but I'm playing Matts CD Heart of the Man tonight :) ............the sound quality is not right up there, and the tracks are mainly from radio broadcasts. But it contains "new" Matt song's to me :)
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

My Ipod was on shuffle mode in the office and on the drive home and it came up with:
You're the One For Me Fatty - Morrissey
Rock The Casbah - The Clash
I Say A Little Prayer - Dionne Warriwick
The Folks Who Live on The Hill - Val Doonican
My Best Girl - Matt Monro
L'ature Jour - Herman's Hermits
Let's Pretend - Bay City Rollers
All I Do Is Think Of You - The Letterman
Something Stupid - Frank and Nancy Sinatra
Catch A Falling Star - Perry Como
Being The Beguine - Johnny Mathis
Spanish Harlem - Aretha Franklin
New World Comin' - Mama Cass Elliott
What's Your Name - Andy and David Williams
Softly As I Leave You - Matt Monro
So it was quite ecclectic.

 I totally understand. When I put on a Morrissey record at home my Dad groans and says not that old gloomy puss and his montone voice again!!! However if I put on Matt or something he likes it's pretty cool as we really start to converse about the music!! :D

This was a random playlist from my ipod earlier this evening--

TIME AFTER TIME—SHIRLEY BASSEY
SOMEDAY SOON----EDDIE FISHER
MAN WHO CAN’T BE MOVED—THE SCRIPT
ONCE UPON A TIME –JACK JONES
IT’S ALL IN THE GAME—JOHNNY MATHIS
LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE---ANN HAMPTON CALLOWAY
THE WAY YOU LOVE ME—FAITH HILL
THE MORE I SEE YOU-- MICHAEL BUBLE
BAUBLES, BANGLES AND BEADS---DIONNE WARWICK.
IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW—-CHICAGO.
THE GREATEST MAN I NEVER KNEW--- REBA MACENTIRE
YOU HAD ME FROM HELLO--MICHAEL BALL

I do not think there are any surprises there

Just out of interest—how many tunes do you have on your Ipod, Eman ?

Listening to Gene Pitney singing "Only Love Can Break a Heart" now. :D Interestingly, Margaret Whiting recorded this one as well. :D
