I know what you mean Marian. Some songs do grow on you, but the judges at this barmiest event of the year will perhaps only be hearing it for the first time,
and I remember my first reaction. No doubt Enge would love to win, and he is sill singing quite well, although I believe singers who are cracking on a bit and still performing, particularly some who' have actually become crap singers, just refuse to face up to it, yet at the same time with thick skins can allow any criticism to go right over their heads. It's an art form really and it's clever, and the answer could lie in the pay cheque.

This one isn't growing on me at all!
Tom Jones is recording far superior material.

Back to the master who is superior to them all. Have just been listening to Desmond Carrington playing Matt's "Till The End Of Time."

I've heard the Englebert song only once and I think I like it.
I wonder what the "theme" was for Desmond to include Till the End of Time. Perhaps beautiful singing.
Those Capitol CDs often make their way to my car along with This is the Life and Here's to my Lady. So many great songs on them.
I've been listening to the Cliff Adams Singers' Broadway album. I find them so soothing and wish they had more albums out.

Paul, Desmond Carringtons theme this Friday was Looking to the Heavens, Skies, planets and stars. Matt's song was the last number that he played from a nice selection such as ...Quiet Nights Of Quiet Stars, Over The Rainbow, Catch A Falling Star, Moonglow.
We have some of Cliff Adams music, nice songs, yes, soothing, but often quite mournful.

I remember hearing The Cliff Adams Singers on radio when I was growing up and thinkng how incredibly boring and yes as you say L&H mournful they sounded. I muich preferred The King Brothers rousing rendition of 76 Trombones!

Mike: Awesome selection!!
Karl: Are they really putting out Supremes at the Copa? I just hope they pass on "A Little Bit Of Liverpool". Didn't like that one.

Listening to Engelbert again tonight
..............just thinking that if he could sing one of his old ballads he would have a better chance of success at Eurovision .............Les Bicyclettes De Belsize would be an ideal song

Have to agree with Robert on Engelbert, he recorded some great songs but sadly this new one is not one of them! Even his more recent albums are better than this.
