Since the end of Summer here is signified by the holiday on Sept 3rd which is Labor Day, today I am having an emergency meeting with my staff along with my boss. The reason? I am going to tell them to wear comfortable clothes such as shorts, t-shirts, etc, tomorrow as my boss and I are going to throw a end of Summer party for our employees. LOL. We sent the email out yesterday and said it was an All Hands Meeting. The employees worked really hard and deserve a little something!! We've already spoken with the caterer for the food, and my boss said he'd take care of doing the barbecue. I however arranged for lots of cans of silly string, an astro jump, water balloons again like last time. Ha ha, I'm such a big kid, and I can't wait to throw a water balloon at my boss..ha ha!!! I'm such a big kid.

So while I am setting up for this meeting I am currently listening to:

Westlife - Allow Us To Be Frank

The Beach Boys - 15 Big Ones

KC and The Sunshine Band - Greatest Hits.

I want to come to your summer party.!!

By the way--"Allow us to be frank " is my favourite Westlife Album.

My sister Jill, who you may remember is a big Westlife fan,. has just preordered the Farewell Tour dvd, and their calendar--which may well be the last one---and no, she does not buy one every year--she buys 2--1 for work and 1 for home.

Oh Mariana, if you were here you sure could come. Ha ha..just came out of the meeting and when they came in I have never seen so many glum and scared faces. Then when it was sprung on them, they were all happy and smiles.

I do love Westlife a lot, can you tell me the name of the DVD please?

I am going out for lunch with my friends--but I will be thinking of your summer party- and your boss !!!!-even though there is a time difference !

It looks like we may have lost our summer already---much cooler today--but nice and bright, szo that is something.

Had a really nice lunch today, in a local small village called Claygate, a typical British pub-restaurant--a group of 19 ladies !! Claygate just consists of a few houses--a dozen or so, and the village pub.

And I retract what I said about the weather--it was beautiful, sunny and warm--just perfect.

The Cookies - Chains - The Dimension Links - Thanks to Lindy's link on the Vince Hill thread, I decided to listen to them as they are one of my faves.

Mariana, the end of Summer party went well. I pegged Richard (my boss) with three whipped cream balloons and he started to literally run after me with a garden hose, but everybody started throwing water ballons at him, so he was turning the hose on them also.   . It was a grand time for one and all and our little way of saying thanks to a job well done to our people. It was a family affair also because we said to bring their families if they wanted.

We used my Ipod which has 12,338 songs so it was a wide mixture and my bosses Ipod. So the music was pumping a little Matt, some rap, rock, and others. When an Irish song came on, some people started to do an Irish Jig!! Here's the best part of the party, I was playing "Julie Do Ya Love Me" by Bobby Sherman and we coaxed my boss to get up and sing with it!! Did he do it? You bet he did and he got a wild applause!!

Oh yes and thanks to my boss, I got hooked on a British band called The Beautiful South. He says they've broken up but are very good. I love their covers of "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" and "Everybody's Talkin". Says two of the guys were from The Housemartins.
