John I googled him and was shocked to read he died back in '95, I bought that single but never heard anything about him after that although I did sometimes see a cd in HMV.

Didn't Tom Jones also record a single about a Rhondda boy?

I think he did Karl, but I am fairly sure David recorded it first as it was sort of follow up single to "If I Could See The Rhondda One More Time". :)

I was just querying the previous spelling of Rhondda as Rhonnda, John. I know where it is, as I was born and grew up there.
Tom Jones recorded "Come Home Rhondda Boy."

Dreams - Neil Diamond (i don't usually like Neil singing songs other than his own but this album of covers is nice. I'm a lifelong fan - Neil doesn't have the greatest voice in the world but he has a way of putting a song across.

John, I love Jay and The Americans. Have quite a few of their lps.

Klaus Nomi - The Essential - A really weird looking guy with some avant garde New Wave music from the 80's.

Yes Eman, I have several of their cd's, I love their version of Cara Mia, quite different to David Whitfield's, also This Magic Moment, Only In America and Walking In The Rain. Super version of Some Enchanted Evening as well, plus many others. :)

John and Robert, I've always like Jay and The Americans version of 'Cara Mia", from the dramatic begining and then it merges into a little poppy rock song with out going over the top. Love that last note also!!
