My itunes has just picked out Barry Manilow's "Copacabana Remix" from the "Hot summer of '78" cd---to be followed by "Easy to remember" by Stacey Kent.

Who knows Stacey Kent??-I have never seen her mentioned on this forum--she is a jazz-type singer--very distinctive voice.-I think she is great !

We are listening to The Ames Brothers on GMMY, a fantastic American group very popular in the Fifties. We need your Help please !!!.... can anyone tell us who it was who recorded the song " Harry Is My Love", ( well, as far as we know that is the title) or "Harry Makes Me Smile"
It's because Harry Birthday was mentioned on GMMY Radio with songs about Harry and it's driving us nuts trying to think of this song.
Robert may know

I remember a song called "Harry" by a singer/songwriter called Catherine ??? I think-----and then "I'm just wild about Harry"---not to mention "Harry, My Honolulu Lover" from the Nolan Sisters. But I cannot think of any other "Harry" songs

Thanks Marian perhaps that could be it. I'll do some net searching.
We know the tune, but only those words come to mind at the moment and we've heard it so many times.

We've got it , This time we've really got it  with a little bit of help from our friend Marian.
It just came to Harry. :P :P It's Catherine Howe who sings Harry  and it's co-incidental, her Birthday is the same day as Harry's,( different year of course) and she was also born in Yorkshire.
So thanks for that Marian, phew !!!!

It is a lovely song. Just looked at Catherine Howe's web-site and she received an Ivor Novello award for this song in 1975.

Hi Lena, Harry and Marian,

I heard an interview with Catherine Howe a few weeks ago.
She was the guest of Roger Day on his evening show.

Catherine is still performing and Yes, Roger did play the lovely song about Harry!
She does a lot of jazz these days and plays mainly smaller venues.
So you never know, Catherine could be playing near you sometime soon!
