I have watched many Laurel and Hardy films, and really cannot remember much about them---only that they all made me laugh.

Can we take it Matt doesn't sing during the film then Gray?
From the sound of the film it's a good thing we didn't all rush out and buy a copy!! :? :?

Yes, we need to know Gray  anyway like John, we like to keep the Union Jack flying, we've ordered Frankie Vaughan's DVD... "Heart Of A Man" from Amazon., his wife Stella was talking about it on Eric Hall last week. We are bound to see a few familiar faces. We'll let you know. :)

Hi

Nope, Matt is NOT on the soundtrack, the version of 'What To Do' in the film is an instrumental version and appears in the very last sequence of the movie!
So I had to sit through the whole film to get to the 'What To Do' bit :)

The last two sequences were the best, but that isn't saying much.
I wouldn't really recommend the film, it has aged badly, is very European in it's 'feel' - which means it pseudo-cerebral but actually is as empty as my wallet! :)

No need for anyone to rush out and buy it.
Unless you're daft, like me! :)

Hi Marian

Indeed I was planning on renting, but in the vain hope that Matt sang in the film, I took a chance & bought it.

I will probably watch it again at some point (just to hear What To Do as an instrumental version), but not for a long while.

In this months news, Michele did mention Matt was nowhere to be seen (or heard  ) in the film Gray  :)

"March 16th will see ‘Woman’s Times Seven’ released to the public sector. I know a lot of you collect anything and everything Matt Monro BUT this DVD doesn’t feature Matt. Although all the promotional literature points to that we cannot verify it. "

These were Michele's actual words Robert.

Hi Robert

In my defence, it was ordered prior to Michele's comment.

Thanks Marian too! :)

...actually, there was another thing I wanted to mention:

The lyrics to What To Do bear no resemblance to what is occurring on the screen in Woman Times Seven.
Which was really quite strange! :)

I wonder what the story was of how Matt came to record it. :D
