Hi Maureen and Harry …………..And You Smiled reached #28 in the charts in 1973 but was in my opinion not one of Matts greatest recordings...…..the Van Der Valk theme with words sung by Matt ……………….again I love the song My Love and Devotion but once again it was only a minor hit for Matt peaking at just #29 ……………..so maybe that's why they were not included on the programme...…………….Matt recorded so many great songs that never ever touched the charts ……………...including these iconic songs.... On Days Like These ………...Somewhere...………Before You Go...………...Beyond the Hill...…...Where In the World ………..Pretty Polly ………... If I Never Sing Another Song and many many more great recordings ……………….so there were so many songs to choose from, one or two or more would miss out …………….. :)

And You Smiled isn't a favourite of mine either. Like you say Robert there were so many wonderful singles that never made the charts.

It's great as an instrumental but it doesn't work so well as a vocal. I still have the Eye Level single.

Thanks for the feedback Robert. We agree there are so many great songs to choose from that it would be difficult to know which ones to choose. ☺

Oh Robert Born to Be Alive, takes me back to being 15 years old a junior in High School in 1979 and doing the "Roller Disco" fad. LOL

Mamma Mia - Here We Go Again! Soundtrack. I love Lily James' voice and her version of When I Kissed The Teacher. I don't like Cher and Andy Garcia's version of Fernando sad to say.

After a bit of research someone called Melvyn Taggart wrote the lyrics Robert.

Abergavenny The Philips Pop Years 1966-71 - Marty Wilde
