I can't see anywhere to amend my post, the second last line has John - this should read John Walker of The Walker Brothers - I saw him just a few years ago on a 60's show and met him afterwards, what a thorough gentleman I was shocked when I heard of his passing.

Thanks to Marian for telling me how to edit, it is rather small print - isn't it?

I remembered another, the actor Walter Matthau. I was at the Albert Hall in London some years ago for a charity show which featured many stars including Elaine Paige & Peters & Lee.
Walter Matthau was also there and he chatted for a time to me and despite the crabby character he so often played he was a perfect gentleman and beautifuly dressed, all I had to get his autograph was my cheque book which he duly signed, everyone was thrusting things at him to sign and nobody said thank you except me - he looked me right in the eye and said "Well Thank You" - I never forgot that, a thank you goes a long way and a famous person will appreciate a little respect.

Al Martino had a great voice, I read not so long ago he was touring here in his 80's and the next time I read about him he was dead.

A colleague of mine went to see Ken Dodd some years ago and she asked one of the theatre staff when the show would end, the reply was "If It's Anything LIke Last Night It'll Be After Midnight", she said he was great but I can only stand him for 5 minutes!!!
