Channeling a David Morrissey moment in Blackpool!!
Channeling a David Morrissey moment in Blackpool!!
Just had to share, that yesterday I had a very long and boring meeting that I had to administer on quite serious matters. However when things were getting heated and very tense. Some of the military types were going to go to blows, what do I do, I go to the corner and hit the Ipod and start singing "You Can Get It If You Really Want" by Jimmy Cliff and then "Around The World" by Matt!! Did the David Morrissey dance and all (secret I'm about as stiff as a board) LOL Boy you should have seen the people look shocked but some were starting to dance and I encouraged it. I told them "Hey the next person who gets heated I'm passing this pointer to then and they are going to perform. I'm laying down that rule". LOL..Things were pretty chilled by then!!
I'm usually a toughie, but I've learned to mellow out by enjoying myself and this is one of my outlets. Weird huh? Guess no one would want to work for me!!

A bit risky too Eman, but pleased your Ipod idea came to the rescue. I mean, thay could quite easily have rammed it down your throat.

LOL True, but not in my office . I have the MP's on stand by!

Such violent thoughts from a nice couple!!!!!
Well done Eamon you handled the situation with tact and diplomacy, so tell me are you going to run for the Senate?
Wish I'd been there to see you strut your funky stuff

Karl, everyone knows when a meeting is held in my office that to expect the unexpected and I'm all about fun, but I am a strict bugger when it comes to policy. My philosophy is to make work fun as long as the job gets done.
Yesterday as I told you I took a break in the afternoon and went to the beach. I gave my whole office staff the afternoon off as they worked their fannies off! They were shocked. Today I instructed that they are to wear shorts and tee-shirts as it is too hot. I have some catered bar-b-que coming in for them for their lunch.
Ahhhh...I must be getting nice in my old age!

Gray, Karl, and Mariana, the lunch went well and it was a grand time for all. I had boxes of water balloons which everyone was thinking what's all these balloons and we had a water balloon fight, hence the shorts and t-shirts. : . I challenged that they throw the first balloons at the boss (me) and I got drenched... .. Then the water balloon fight commenced at each other. I've never seen so many uptight people go back into their childhoods and it was great fun!!
It was just something to say thank you to my staff and the military assigned to me for a job well done. Oh by the way, I did throw a balloon at my stuffy boss and he was wearing a suit.. He just laughed it oh when I said "Oh S**t!!"

It all sounded great fun Eman! You sound a really special kind of boss to work for.
Re: Channeling a David Morrissey moment in Blackpool!!
Eamon your stuffy boss may bill you for the cleaning of the suit!
Re: Channeling a David Morrissey moment in Blackpool!!
Thank you Marian. I try, but I do tend to become "a suit" when I have to. I do believe my employees and the military that work for me, work hard and we are on call 24/7, so why not show a little gratitude to them and that their boss is a human being with a life also!!
Re: Channeling a David Morrissey moment in Blackpool!!
Karl, yeah, I don't think so, cuz he threw a balloon right back at me and laughed! He took off his jacket, rolled up his pants and took off his wing tipped shoes and started in on the fun, even the higher ranked military did the same!
Re: Channeling a David Morrissey moment in Blackpool!!
I would have loved to be there---I can just imagine all of you breaking into a chorus, just like in the big movies !!!
