I have been playing some of my Marti Pellow cd's today and one song stopped me in tracks and I had to play it again, it was co-written by Martii and it's called Hard To Cry - Marti performs it with just a guitar - wow, what a perfomance!

I do not remember hearing that song---but my friend Sandy--sadly no longer with us--adored Marti Pellow, and saw him as often as she could--and I remember once that she told me she was off to see Marti in Chicago--it was not till later that I realised she meant "Chicago"--the musical !!

This happened to me just the other day, Karl.
But it was a classical piece by Robert Schumann, it just floored me.

It's wonderful when that happens. :)

Gray it's a great thing for any singer or musician to move their listener that way.

Every time I play The Pearl Fishers Duet by Jussi Bjorling & Robert Merrill it moves me as it is just so beautiful.

I remember Dusty said years ago the first time she heard Burt Bacharach's Don't Make Me Over she burst into tears with sheer joy, I can understand that as it's a great song - infact the orchestral version by Burt is fantastic and encouraged me to buy his Hit Maker album many, many years ago - I heard that track playing in the record shop and had to buy it.

Don't Make Me over is a great song, thanks for sharing Dusty's feelings on it!
What a gift music is, to make us all emote in such a way.

Wow isn't that great how music can do that to one. I can remember hearing "Stop" by the Spice Girls on the radio and loving it, while driving then I drove directly to a record store to buy the cd single!!

Gray it surely is a gift and for someone like Matt, Dusty, Alfie Boe, Jackie Trent, Madeline Bell, Jack Jones etc (to name a few) to be born with the ability to give thousands of people joy and to bring us alll together in music is a wonderful thing.

I cannot live without music.

Hey Eamon it can also work the other way,

A few years ago in a record store I heard this dreadul din and it was one of Dusty's songs by a new band. I asked the assistant who it was and he told me and offered to get the cd for me - No thanks said I, I just wanted to know who it was so's I can avoid them in future!!!

The White Stripes recorded I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself. It was released as a single in September 2013 and the followup to Seven Nation Army.
