A friend gave me this CD. My friend thinks Mr Ovenden is the greatest male singer in years. He has a powerful voice, but I don't care for some of the arrangements. The title track sung with only a piano accompaniment is gorgeous.

Have you heard of him? The album contains our kind of music.

I have both of Julian's cd's and saw him onstage recently in South Pacific.

Just listened to a few of the songs on that album Paul, and yes I like his voice and you are right about the title track with just piano accompaniment…..lovely

What is silver vinyl? Does it sound better than regular vinyl or a CD? (I still prefer CDs.)

The vinyl records are so expensive in the US -- double the price of CDs. I remember buying LPs for $4.99 and less!

Right now I'm listening to Elgar's Anthems and Motets. Later today I'll listen to my favourite Dusty Springfield compilation: The Silver Collection.

It's silver vinyl as opposed to black and next month for Record Store Day they will release Dusty's album Cameo on blue vinyl, there is no difference in the sound Paul they are just as good as black vinyl. However with the black turntable mat shining through the silver vinyl it just looks like a regular black vinyl album. I agree with your comment about vinyl prices, they are now supposedly so popular so the price should be falling just the way cd prices fell when they took off.
