Petula Clark for Dame?

Post by Administrator » Mon Jun 25, 2007 3:26 pm

There is a Downing Street petition to make Petula Clark a Dame. As many Matt and Petula fans are the same people wondered if you would please publicise this in any way you can , or email members? People signing need to either be British or UK resident. Only one signature per email address.

Many of Matt's fans may have bought Petula's duets CD recently as their lovely duet is featured.

The link is http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Damehood/

All you do is click on, fill in briefly and sign

Then Downing Street send you an email reply. To validate the signature you open this email and click on it

Thanks

Richard Harries

Two people in my opinion deserve a knighthood who have not got one... Tommy Steele and Bruce Foresyth.

I think "Our Pet" is most certainly well deserved of a damehood, with her wonderful contribution to music and film spanning over 60 years! She certainly has my vote! :D

Thanks,Aministrator for the heads-up.
I've requested a Honorary Award for Tony Bennett who has appeared here many times over the years for various UK charities and,in The States too.
This year he receives a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD on World Refugee Day for his services to the Aid to Darfur charity.

That would be fantastic, and well deserved too. :D :D
Matt really loved his country and became a great International Star, but never forgot his roots.

Dame Pet would be wonderful wouldn't it! She's certainly given her all to show-biz.

Petula was guest on Eric Hall's programme on Sunday with Bill Kenwright also, who had worked many times with Petula.
Eric said it was time she was made a Dame and she spoke of her pleasure of already having been awarded a C.B.E. but we think it's time she was Dame Petula Clark.
